Ithaca Topographic Map

As a student studying and living in Ithaca, I get the privilage of running and hiking in one of the most geologically scenic areas in upstate New York. You might have heard the punny phrase, "Ithaca is gorgeous" and if you haven't, let me enlighten you; Ithaca is gorgeous. I have spent countless hours exploring this area and have developed a connection with the outdoor roads and trails that make it all feel like home.

  I created this topographic map to illustrate the elevation changes in the area as well as some other significant topographic features. I also added road names because some of them hold a special place in my heart as I run through them every day with some of my absolute favorite people. I think this piece is a great example of how art can be informative while also maintaining the personalized aspect that draws an artist to a particular area of focus.
